High Bridge Quarter Autumn Festival 8th September 2012 (10am-7pm)

More info here
High Bridge Quarter staged it's second street festival on Saturday 8th September 2012. Attended by over 12,000 people at the previous event in April, the festival acts as a showcase for niche traders on High Bridge Newcastle. An oasis of vintage clothing, niche music, exclusive fashion, baseball wear, slick hairstyles ,micro ales, stereograms and culture. High Bridge Quarter reflects the growing independent nature of shopping in the city.

A market featured the best of ethnic, indigenous and international street food and a programme of live musical entertainment ensured a really great day out in Newcastle. People were able to grab a bite to eat, visit the cool shops, listen to some great music, relax in a café, do a bit of shopping in town then come back to the street for more!!! Festivals don't get any cooler. So shop and eat to the beat of the street was the order of the day!

We would like to thank the people involved in the organisation of the event.
In particular a big thank you goes to Jane from Henry's Barbers for the excellent work in organising the stalls at very short notice, it was much appreciated.

On September 8th, High Bridge Quarter held its second Festival with amazing music from some of Newcastle's best bands and delicious food from the best restaurants and street food specialists in town. HBQ supports local businesses, restaurants, music and the arts.
From 10am the street was alive - music, delicious smells and laughter filled the whole area.
To sustain the revellers over the day there was a huge range of food on offer including delightful bread, cakes and macaroons from The French Oven; wonderful soups from Soupieface; and freshly baked pizza served by Proved Pizza. The Greedy Bassets and Marco Polo cooked all day, along with Pacific Bar's burgers and The New Zealand Pie Company. High Bridge's own Dabbawal provided Indian street food with people queuing patiently to buy their delicious wares. Chinese street food by Lulucookschinese, Mexican wraps from Salsa Club, Italian delights from Zizzi and Greek delights from Simply Greek - every stall had something wonderful for us to taste. And everything was washed down with the best coffee in town, locally roasted and brewed by Ouseburn Coffee.
On the corner of Grey Street and High Bridge, Fifth Avenue Florists made a beautiful entrance of plants and flowers second to none, giving the event a wonderful sense of glamour! The street was full of amazing art pieces by LegoArt and the Baltic Shop was buzzing with people. There was a lot for children to enjoy, including the Baltic Bubble encouraging kids to use their creativity, and a queue at the face painting stand all day.
Guests were entertained through the day by modern jazz from The Affiliates, sweet Bossa Nova courtesy of Vamossa, plus excellent sets by Static Soul and Parastatic.
The event was a wonderful reminder of just how special High Bridge Quarter is - underlining our commitment to keep giving our customers and the people of Newcastle the very best we have to offer.
